More than $2.3m has been shared by Territorians wanting to break into the housing market.
Latest HomeGrown Territory grants data reveals that more than 900 Territorians have applied for the scheme.
NT Treasurer Bill Yan said because of the grants’ success the government has extended them for another year.
Master Builders NT Chief Executive Sallyann Innes said the results are speaking for themselves.
“Master Builders NT is urging Territorians to seize this opportunity to build a home of their own with a HomeGrown Territory grant,” she said. “It’s the most generous home builder scheme in the nation.”
She said the Finocchiaro government’s program has been responsible for more than 200 new builds in the pipeline.
“Every new build keeps the construction industry moving forward at a critical time for the Northern Territory, “Ms Innes said.
“It supports our local builders, tradies, apprentices, suppliers, and local businesses. When this happens, the benefits flow directly into the community and broader economy.”
“Whether you’re looking to build or buy a newly built home, the HomeGrown Territory grants help.”
The program, open to all Territorians buying a new or existing home, has already approved 762 applications.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics confirms first home buyers in the NT increased by 23.4 per cent to 258 over the year to June 2025 – the strongest growth in the nation.
“With our relative affordability, strong job opportunities, and unique lifestyle, the Territory is the envy of other states,” Ms Innes said.
